Heartland Chapter - ACFE
The Heartland Chapter of the Association of
Certified Fraud Examiners is dedicated to the detection and
deterrence of fraud. We are a
non-profit professional organization comprised of fraud investigators,
internal and external auditors, law enforcement, accountants and finance
professionals that is dedicated to the education and training of anti-fraud
measures.
The Heartland Chapter has approximately 177
members from various companies, organizations, law enforcement agencies, and
other public or private firms throughout our territory of the states of
Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. The
Heartland Chapter has a rich history
with much of the success driven by the vision of our board of
directors and officers.
We hold bimonthly luncheon chapter meetings on
the second Tuesday of the month, in Omaha, Nebraska, in which we have a fraud
related topic presented over the lunch hour. The meetings for 2012-2013 will be held at the Scott Conference
Center. These meetings it provides
members with an opportunity to learn about what is new in the fraud world and
provides an excellent opportunity to network with other fraud
professionals. One hour of continuing
professional education (CPE) training is also provided. If you are interested in attending a
meeting or becoming a member contact our chapter secretary via email Secretary@Heartlandacfe.com
The Heartland Chapter also holds annually its
Fraud Training Seminar, which covers two days of fraud training on various
topics from national and international experts. For a vary reasonable price, attendees get all materials
presented by the fraud experts, networking opportunities, and up to 16 hours
of CPE, which can be valuable to ensure professional designations stay
current. Typically, the fraud
training seminar is held in the Omaha, Nebraska metro area and historically
the seminar has annually hosted over 260 attendees. If you are interested to learn more about this year's fraud
training seminar please click on the Upcoming Events link

The Heartland Chapter has also placed an emphasis
on giving back to the communities that we serve. The Chapter Board of Directors will designate annually the
number of scholarships to be awarded and the amount given. The Chapter currently offers two types of scholarships: The Richard Podlesak Memorial Scholarship
is offered to students who desire to educate themselves and pursue careers as
an anti-fraud professional and The Dennis Carroll CFE Exam Scholarship is
offered to chapter members who through their application demonstrated their
desire to pursue the CFE designation to further advance their careers as an
anti-fraud professional. To learn more about these scholarships click on the Scholarship
